“Three Years”

And all at once another lie
To hide beneath my bed
For every closet in this house
Is filled with my regrets.

I saw you walking in his hand,
I smiled behind my tears.
You’ll find me face down in the grass,
These words upon my skin:

“I won’t get over you”

It’s been three years now
And I keep falling down.
I forgot my wings
Though I do not care.
I’m nose over tail.

And all at once another line
About the same mistakes
And all at once another prize
For being dumb and lame.

I saw you walking in the snow,
I cried behind my smile.
You’ll find me here, inside these songs
And I’ll find you in my dreams at night.

I’m still not over you.

It’s been three years now
And I keep falling down.
I forgot my wings
Though I still don’t care.
Now I’m tongue-tied, again.

It’s been three years now
And I keep falling down.
I forgot my wings
Though I do not care.
I’m nose over tail.
